Redeem Best Western Rewards Points

From free nights to shopping rewards, Best Western Rewards points can be used for many different purposes. While points are primarily used for hotel nights, members can also redeem them for gift cards and other options.

Use of Best Western Rewards for free hotel nights

Best Western Rewards does not have a formal rewards table, but each hotel has a certain number of points that you will needredeem a free night🇧🇷 The price of a hotel night is based on the dates requested, the location and the brand of the hotel, and can vary according to the season and demand. For example, a Best Western hotel may cost fewer points than a Best Western Premier, but the Premier location may offer more services.

To determine how many points you'll need for an award night, visit and select "Best Western Reward Points" from the Rates menu.

We value Best Western Rewards points on0.8 centseach. To make sure you get the most out of your points, look for rewards where you can earn at least that much per point, if not more.

Other ways to use Best Western Rewards points

Even if you can't use your points on hotel rates, there are many other options, such as:

  • Air miles:Best Western partners with 16 airlines as transfer partners, including Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, American Airlines AAdvantage, British Airways Executive Club and Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards. Transfers must be made in blocks of 5,000 points, in a 5-to-1 exchange ratio: 5,000 Best Western Rewards points convert to 1,000 airline miles. See our guide to Best Western redemption partnershere.

  • Car Rental Gift Card:Points can be redeemed for gift cards at Avis, Alamo, Budget and National. Gift cards are valued at $50 each and range in price from 11,600 to 13,000 Best Western Rewards points.

  • Charitable Donations:Best Western Rewards can be redeemed for charitable donations in your name to 10 different charities in the US and Canada, including Best Friends Animal Society, Canadian Red Cross and Make-a-Wish Foundation. Redeeming 500 points results in a $2 donation, with no limit to the number of donations you can make.

  • Gift cards:As with other hotel programs, points can be redeemed for gift cards at a variety of stores and restaurants. Prices range from 6,000 to 6,500 Best Western Rewards points for select gift cards, up to 26,000 points for a $100 gift card. Reward prices will change depending on the gift card you select.

  • Goods:Nearly all points can be redeemed for merchandise rewards, and Best Western Rewards is no exception to this rule. The rewards redemption mall offers many different items to purchase, from watches and backpacks to home technology. Your point value depends on what you choose to buy.

  • Best Western Travel Cards:If you'd rather have cash for a hotel room than use points for award nights, you can redeem your Best Western Rewards for travel cards. Travel cards are available in US dollars and Canadian dollars and can be exchanged at different rates depending on your elite status. Non-elite guests can redeem 6,000 Best Western points for a $25 card, while elite members receive a $25 card for 5,500 points.

Good redemption options

hotel rooms:Despite the many options, hotel rooms often offer the best bang for your Best Western Rewards points. By using points to book award nights, travelers earn an average value of0.8 centsper point

Gift cards:If you have no other use for your Best Western Rewards, redeeming them for gift cards isn't the worst use of your points. At most retailers, gift cards can be redeemed for around 0.4 cents per point, which is the lowest price for hotel rewards. While we don't necessarily recommend redeeming points for gift cards, using Best Western Rewards for gift cards is an option if you can't use them at a hotel. Keep in mind, however, that since your Best Western points do not expire, it would be best to save them for the future.

Bad redemption options

Goods Rewards:As with most rewards programs, using points for merchandise is often a poor choice. Best Western Rewards is no exception. When exchanging for goods, points are only worth 0.2 to 0.3 cents each. When considering using rewards to purchase items, divide the lowest price by the number of points needed to purchase. If the value is below0.8 centsIt's not a great redemption.

Air transfers:While some hotel loyalty programs offer good options for transferring points to airline miles, converting Best Western Rewards into airline tickets is not a good proposition. With a transfer rate of 5 points per 1 frequent flyer mile, you lose a significant amount of value unless your airline points are worth 3 cents or more. If you're staying at Best Western properties but don't want points, you can redeem your rewards for airline miles in your profile.

the bottom line

Offered by one of the largest hotel chains in the United States, Best Western Rewards can be valuable for travelers staying primarily in the United States and Canada. With an average value of0.8 centsper point, the overall value of the program is less compared to competitors like World of Hyatt. But for those who want a clean room and don't mind giving up the amenities of a full-service hotel, Best Western Rewards may have some value in the long run.
