Replace or repair my window with the same model.
Why I Won't Buy Marvin Window Products And Neither Should You. In 2004, we renovated our kitchen, replacing three windows and one door with Marvin windows. At the time, we bought Marvin's because I thought they were high quality. Marvin's website says: “We are committed to design that is as functional and intuitive as it is beautiful. Made with...

sliding glass doors
Last year we replaced two sliding glass doors in our house. The cost of the doors and installation was $12,000! One door works fine, the other doesn't close well. Dealership came out twice to try to fix it and reduce the squeal when opening and closing. Ultimately, they said, Marvin would have to send the distribution in for a replacement or repair. I've been waiting for 3 months without calling to make an appointment.
Desired result:Repair or replace the door

Product, warranty, extremely slow customer response and defective glass replacement.
My main Lakehouse Jose Suarez in Connecticut (102 S Shore Road, Salisbury, CT 06068) has 5 bad windows where the seals failed and the windows are fogged up. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 years now, covid has messed up the process a bit, but I haven't been updated or contacted in months. Case # [protected]

Started a new email chain dated 7/13/2021 with Rick Daley about unresolved bugs for this window. My manager recently purchased over $200,000 worth of Marvin windows/doors in Florida, so we are a loyal customer who needs help ASAP.
Desired result:5 window replacement to original specifications

I am writing to inform you that one of your (semi) drivers was very reckless on the road today. On HWY 55 (between Rockford and Buffalo, MN) they sped up and passed a vehicle that was using the turn lane to circle them. HWY 55 is already so dangerous. A semi-driver killed our friend on this highway 3 weeks ago when he was pulling into his lane.
What he did was extremely dangerous, unnecessary, and highly illegal.
Just passing the word along.

The complaint was investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Poor window construction, air leaks, and street noise should have solved both problems, but they didn't. Don't buy Marvin.
We replaced a Marvin window insert with a full Marvin window. Dual Suspension, 40" x 50", Infinity, STC/OITC, LOE 366 W/Argon, Street traffic noise as loud as before replacement. The gap between the inner pane of the double window and the outer pane was less than the replaced insert. The supposedly thicker outer glass doesn't help reduce noise. I would like to return the window. The installation by our local company was excellent, however the window is inferior and cost $1600. installed. How do I get reimbursed for the cost of the window?

Leaking sliding patio doors
We have an 8' wide x 80" high sliding patio door that faces the water side of Green Bay. I have to tape the edges where the window and door latch meet to keep out the snow and rain. 60 doors. Can this unit be installed? Is there a storm door that will fit here? Van's Lumber attempted to repair this unit last summer. It was installed in 1997.

Inoperable sliding doors and leaking windows
We selected Marvin windows for our nursing home and asked the representative several times to install sliding doors. This adjustment is not met in two of the seven sliding doors installed. Only two elderly people live here, so there is no abuse. The insulation strip at the bottom of the sliders is coming off, even after repair, I have one that keeps coming off. We have a custom made window leak. Even when the rep comes here, he admits there's a problem, but Marvin doesn't do anything or make any suggestions.

bad sales and service
The seller told us that our windows were eligible for the 30% tax credit only to find out, after our order was placed at a 50% discount, that they were not. No apologies or anything. Many of our existing Marvin windows need service, and after three calls and inspections, I gave up. The product may be ok for some people, but the service for me is horrible.

All the Marvin windows in my Houston home (circa 2001) had to be replaced due to wood rot. The windows were kept painted. The wood used in the construction of these windows was basically not good. All my neighbors had the same problem with their Marvin windows.

Low performance
I too was taken through Marvin's windows. But in this case, more than 200 windows. 80% of windows leak air and water in the bottom corners and sides. Not the installation, but the windows themselves. They are highly rated, but in the real world they fail miserably. They are poorly made with little to no tolerance factor. Wide gaps on the sides, poor sealing ability on the bottom, not sure how they passed the government standards set out in his brochure unless payola was involved. These double suspension units can't stop a 20 mph wind. Save money and buy something else. Your service department. it makes no sense and they don't really care about their product and how it is perceived by the general public. Save yourself the aggravation, time and excessive cost.

Anyone who knows anything about Windows will realize that this is obviously an installation problem. My mom has marvins at home and they don't have any problems. Any good window (marvin, andersen, etc.) will not leak if installed correctly. The problem is that the average homeowner doesn't know what to look for in a bad installation. He did a very bad job.

I have mid 90's Marvin windows that have completely deteriorated. They are true split light windows with a vinyl/plastic over wood type. The bond between the plastic material and the wood was broken and allowed water to seep over time, rotting the frames and trim. The only option is to completely replace all the windows in the house at 4 times the cost of the original installation. By contrast, my neighbor installed similar Anderson windows, which are as good as the day they arrived. Marvin was no help in fixing the problem except for trying to sell me new windows. I would look at other manufacturers if considering Marvin.

Don't waste your time or your money! This company sells Alside products. Alside tried to hide under a different name, Associated Materials Inc, also known as AMI. They only make two products, windows and siding, both of which are terrible. Nothing good is said about Alside anywhere on the net. Alside has a class action lawsuit on its side and another class action lawsuit is currently being filed on its windows. If you install these products you will regret it, plan to replace them next year and waste more money. Just google it, I'm sure you'll find the same elsewhere.

Marvin never used vinyl as a siding material. Also, Andersen does not make true split-light windows.

poor window quality
Just 15 years after installation, 5 of my 8 Marvin windows need to be replaced because the sash, sills and even some window frames have rotted. The only 3 that do not need replacement are located under a porch roof.
I bought the windows in Marvin's "Flexicron" finish, now discontinued. During shipping, the Flexicron finish cracked at the seams. Marvin sent several representatives to investigate the problem. Everyone agreed there was a problem, but no one showed up to fix the windows, so Marvin didn't endorse his product.
Because of the Flexicron finish, I never noticed the frames rotting until my warranty expired. Imagine my surprise when, during the process of power washing the house to prepare it for painting, I saw the window frames disintegrate. The Marvin representative I contacted expressed sadness at my misfortune and kindly offered to sell me some new frames.
A 150 year old house that still has most of its original windows and Marvin's windows didn't last 15 years.
Don't be fooled by the glossy advertisements for beautiful windows in expensive homes. Those windows were really beautiful, but at Marvin, beauty is only skin deep.
