Hotel Premier Inn London County Hall
Hotel class:average range

Smart, functional chain hotel popular with families and business travelers alike
The hotel is located in County Hall, a large and attractive stone building built in the early 20th century in the Edwardian Baroque style. It was originally home to part of the London government, but now houses restaurants, apartments, some tourist attractions, and another hotel. The lobby has a bank of computers to allow guests to check in and avoid the usual line of people waiting to get room keys. There's also a small reception for those who prefer to check-in the old-fashioned way. The lobby is bright and clean but has the typical chain hotel feel with lots of advertising on the walls, but the information board is a useful touch and maps and brochures are on hand. The hotel is quiet and has a sense of calm, which is surprising given its busy location. It's also family-friendly with perks for those traveling with kids, but its central location makes it an equally good choice for business travelers.

Spacious and comfortable rooms, some with excellent views of the Thames.
The rooms are ordinary and the simple decor is not something to get excited about, but for a central London hotel the size of the rooms is exceptional. Many of those on the river side also have spectacular views of the London Eye, the River Thames and Jubilee Gardens. Rooms have small flat-screen TVs, safes, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, but they lack extras like minibars. This is one of the Premier Inn properties to feature the chain's "Hypnos" beds, which receive rave reviews from guests for their comfort. Large bathrooms have shower/tub combos with excellent water pressure.

Features
No room service or fitness center, but a decent restaurant and free Wi-Fi throughout
The hotel has limited facilities and lacks public areas, and while there's a small lounge area in the lobby, there's no real room to sit and relax. However, there is a small meeting room that seats up to 12 people, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. The hotel restaurant serves cooked or continental breakfast, light snacks, dinner and a separate children's menu. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, but it is good value for money and offers a wide range of breakfast items from toasted buns to vegetarian sausages. It works great for families, as kids 16 and under get free breakfast when they eat with an adult. Lunch and dinner include a variety of options including chicken wings, burgers, pizza, pasta, and salads. There is also a bar here, but it is small. Guests will find many more lively bars and pubs within a short walk of the hotel.
